How to Like Your Family
Maybe like is too strong a word. Maybe you don’t need to like your family, but you’d like to at least be able to get along for the holidays without fighting. Or maybe you do like them a great deal, but all the triggers and stress that come up when you’re around them get in the way of enjoying your time together.
For so many people the holidays are a source of dread, amplifying difficulties with relatives just from the pressure to have contact with them, even if you don’t actually see each other.
To support you in creating the holiday experience you want to have, this class will offer:
- Information on how your brain works in relationship with other people, and why old patterns with family can be so hard to change
- Simple, effective tools you can do by yourself and in the presence of difficult people (without them knowing you’re doing it) that improve the dynamic of the relationship as soon as you start to use them
- Recognition of your value independent of how you were raised, so you can live your life forward as an act of positive creation, not in reaction to the past
These teachings are helpful for any ongoing relationship where you experience strife, be it with family, people at work, someone you are in a romantic relationship with, your children, or more. Learn simple tools that develop into skills to change how you show up in a relationship with someone, and thereby change the baseline for how you experience all your relationships.
